Punctal occlusion involves the non-surgical insertion of a tiny, soft silicone pug into the tear duct opening. This blocks the normal drainage path, enabling your own natural tears to remain on the surface of the eye longer. While considered permanent, punctual occlusion is very easily reversible. Punctal occlusion is a quick and painless procedure that only takes about 10 minutes.
